The Department of Industrial Engineering of the University of Rome “Tor Vergata” is characterized by a multidisciplinary composition of expertise including Metallurgy, Mechanical Technology, Technical Physics, Energetics, Applied Mechanics and Applied Physics to the following fields of research: Nuclear Fusion, Biological and Medical sciences and Cultural Heritage.

Thanks to it’s wide range of expertise, the Department of Industrial Engineering cooperates with national and international entities for Research projects to create CBRN boards characterized by a heterogeneous and high specialized level of knowledge in the frame of Safety and Security system.

To achieve this goal the Didactical aspect represents a key activity of the Department of Industrial Engineering which, together with the Faculty of Medicine and Surgery by collaborating with public and private entities specialized in CBRN events, has developed a second level Post Graduate Course in “Protection against CBRN events” (60 ECTS) to give a recognized standard preparation, necessary to manage CBRN events, to First Responders and Decision Makers.
